Hey, you!

I like your bow!

It’s simple: we teach problem-solving and communication skills to middle school and high school girls.

That means helping a girl find her voice in a tough conversation, think on her feet when a plan falls apart, and walk into a room like she belongs there- because she does.

Right now we're doing it through girls' flag football, because there is no better classroom than the field. Nothing teaches you to think fast, speak up, trust your team, and shake off a bad play like Friday night under the lights.

Starting I Like Your Bow was an accident, honestly. I was at a cheer competition. Picture a big arena, teams everywhere, and the tension between two of the teams was just thick.

This awkward, heavy silence hanging over everything, girls side-eyeing each other instead of enjoying the day. And something in me just snapped (in the best way) and I started screaming, "I LIKE YOUR BOW!" at the top of my lungs.

It was hyping up complete strangers and the whole energy in the place shifted. Girls started laughing, talking, loosening up, complimenting each other back. One genuine, loud, ridiculous gesture of kindness changed the entire arena. And I walked out of there thinking: that's the lesson. That's the whole nonprofit. A compliment can change a room- and a girl who learns to give one can change the world.

Hi, I’m Megz!

I'm Megz West — I'm a wife, a mom, a football coach, and United Crown of America Top Five Finalist- Ms. Executive East Coast. I’m proud to call Richmond, Virginia home.

I run a nonprofit called I Like Your Bow, where we teach problem-solving and communication skills to middle and high school girls. I'm basically proof that you can wear a crown and coach a football team in the same week and honestly, I think the crown and the whistle bring out the best in each other.

When I'm not building up my girls, I love pink (unapologetically head-to-toe pink), I love singing karaoke like I mean it, and I love true crime- because nothing keeps me up at night like a good mystery I can't solve. Not necessarily in that order.
